MENTORING
FOR COFFEE TABLE BOOK PUBLISHING
Picture this for a moment…
You’re out and about taking a wander through the shops when you step into a book store, and as soon as you turn a corner you notice a cover that looks very familiar. It takes a few seconds to realise you’ve just come face to face with your book on a store’s bookshelf.
Your . Actual . Book .
The one you spent months producing, polishing and perfecting. As you begin to process, your insides start to do a happy dance filling you with glee and your face transforms with possibly the biggest involuntary grin of delight it can muster. And for the self-conscious among us, not wanting to make a fuss you faux casually sneak a few pictures to share with your family, friends and audience.
This is not some imaginary experience
…believe this is real.
I have experienced this and so too have countless other published authors who’ve publicly shared their feelings and reactions in the moment. And no matter how long your book has been out, the feelings that come with unexpectedly bumping into it in a store, at an event, or on someone’s coffee table never gets old.
It is said everyone has got a book in them.
So, how would you like to experience the published book happy dance for yourself?
Publishing a coffee table book is a wonderful way to share your story, unique perspective, creativity, and passions.
A well-crafted artbook acts as a calling card, building your reputation, and boosting your visibility to help position you as an authority in your field. Leverage it right, and publishing a book can put you on the path to receiving opportunities you could only dream about.
If you have been creating for a while publishing a book is a beautiful way to commemorate your work. Establishing a legacy. And you never know who will come across your book and be inspired by your story.
So, What’s holding you back from getting started?
Is it because…
This is fear talking. And the only way to smash through the fear is by taking the first step.
But you don’t have to do it alone.
I am here to guide you
Yes, publishing a coffee table book does take a while to do, and yes, there is a lot to figure out. Not to mention the process can mentally and emotionally challenge you giving rise to doubts over whether you can do it.
And you can do it.
If you dedicate the time, effort and commitment needed to see it through the end result of holding that printed and bound copy in your hands makes it all worth it. An indescribable sense of accomplishment that ‘I actually did this‘. Not to mention the feeling of seeing a copy of your book on a store bookshelf and wanting to do a happy dance there and then.
IMAGINE HOW IT WOULD FEEL IF…
YOU HAD ACCESS TO…

MEET Your Mentor
Hello there,
I’m Tapiwa Matsinde a London-based curator, author, mentor and expert in global fine crafts and design. Writing a book was something I never thought I’d do until I did, and then I was hooked. I have published 3 books, contributed chapters to other books, and helped other creatives produce and publish their own coffee table books.
Every time I mention I have written a book the first question is usually “so how do you publish a book?” With so much involved in order to answer that question, I did what I do best and wrote a book about the publishing process based on my experiences of traditional- and self-publishing and the notes I kept along the way to guide me. If however, you are after a more personalised do-what-it-takes-to-get-it-right experience, 1-to-1 mentoring could be just the thing for you.
I have experienced the good, the bad, and the down-right ugly sides of artbook publishing and by pooling together the publishing insights, knowledge and hands-on expertise I have gained I can help you avoid making the same mistakes I did.
I’d be honoured to help you produce and publish your offee table book.
